A guardrail is a rule you set once, while you’re clear-headed. Lessen checks your bets several times a day and holds the rule for you. Tightening one works right away. Loosening one, or turning it off, takes 7 days.

Most rough nights start the same few ways. Set a rule before the ones you can see on the calendar.

Yes. You can change any rule, or turn it off, in Settings. Making a rule stricter works right away: turning one on, or lowering its amount.
Making a rule looser takes 7 days. That covers turning a rule off, raising its amount and ending a lock early. You ask now, and you confirm it on day 7. It protects the you who set the rule from the you who wants out at midnight.
It’s a checklist you do, for a night you don’t trust. Five steps, about five minutes: delete the sportsbook apps, log out of the sportsbook websites, take a break of at least 24 hours at each book, withdraw the balance and take the saved card off, and tell your person.
The checklist can’t close your sportsbook accounts. Only you and your books can, and Lessen shows you exactly how. Turn on the smart blocker and the sportsbook apps you pick lock on your phone for the 24 hours too. A break at a book can pause its connection to Lessen for the day. That’s fine, and it never counts against you.
Yes, if you turn it on. The smart blocker puts a block screen over the sportsbook apps you pick when your week runs out, when your night rule locks the night, or when you tap Lock me down. On iPhone it uses Apple Screen Time. You can always turn it off in Settings.
It blocks apps on your phone, not sportsbook websites. For websites, your protection plan shows you how to add a blocker such as BetBlocker (free) or Gamban.
A deposit limit is a real stop, set by the sportsbook itself. Lowering one works at once. Raising one takes a waiting period at most books, and that wait is the point.
In Lessen Mode, set a weekly deposit limit no higher than your weekly number. In Quit Mode, set it as low as it goes. You’ll find it in each book’s Responsible Gaming settings. If a book doesn’t offer deposit limits, this step doesn’t apply to it.
