Research Participation Notice

Effective September 8, 2026 · Version 2026-09-08.2

This notice concerns optional research at Lessen, operated by Udom Software LLC, a Nevada limited liability company, doing business as Lessen, 732 South 6th Street, Suite N, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Email: admin@lessen.app.

Current status

External research releases are not enabled. The app can save your research preference, but that preference does not authorize a sale or a specific external study. Declining does not remove any paid feature or change your price. If a study is introduced, we will present the relevant project notice and obtain the permission required for it before release.

What a future project must explain

A project notice must identify its purpose; responsible organization and recipients; what information is included; whether records are individual, coded, or truly deidentified; whether money or another benefit changes hands; how long records are kept; foreseeable privacy risks; withdrawal and deletion procedures; whether there is compensation; and who to contact. Where a project requires institutional review, a HIPAA authorization, or other approvals, those must occur before participation.

Possible research fields include before-and-after betting summaries, screening scores, goal or streak outcomes, and responses to interventions. The fact that a name and email are removed does not make a detailed record anonymous. Combining attributes may still identify a person. Recipient contracts must prohibit reidentification, advertising, unrelated model training, onward release and adverse employment or insurance use, and require appropriate security, deletion and incident cooperation.

Separate permission

Agreeing to Terms, paying, receiving care, or sharing with your clinician is not agreement to research. If an external disclosure is legally a sale of consumer health data, Lessen must obtain a separate signed authorization meeting applicable law, identify the parties and data, provide an expiration and revocation method, give you a copy and retain the legally required proof. The ordinary research setting is not enough. No program may disguise a sale as anonymous research merely by replacing your name with a number.

Changing your mind

Use Settings or email admin@lessen.app. Withdrawing a research preference stops new research preparation and removes your coded snapshot rows held by Lessen. Account deletion also removes those rows. For a future outside study, the project notice must describe the recipient's deletion duties and any narrow lawful limits. We will not simply state that every already-sent file is beyond your rights. It may be impossible to reverse a completed analysis using truly deidentified data, but pseudonymous individual records are not automatically exempt from deletion law.

Questions and complaints follow Privacy and Consumer Health Data Privacy. This notice is not a promise that research will produce a benefit to you or prove that Lessen works.
